Once again Point Lobos offered spectacular diving! I really feel sorry for those divers who are not yet aware that some of the best diving is in the winter in the Monterey and Carmel Bay Area. Visability was a clear 40 feet and the weather was beautiful. It was a little surgy but not enough to take the thrill of the dive away. As with most Point Lobos dives we had several Harbor Seals accompany our divers. Every year they get braver and interact with divers. Fish life was abundant & the Nudibrancs were out in full force. Stan took groups of divers out to the outer reefs with one of the inflatibles where depths of 70+ feet were reached. Harry & Heather made it into the cave at Coal Chute Point and actually exited through the hole on top. I haven't seen that done before. Harry was using a new Mantis full face mask and was having a ball! Everyone got 2 to 3 dives in before we had to leave the park at 5:00pm. The tidal movment was so great that at low tide, the boat ramp was fully exposed. We had to haul the boats in by linethen carry them up the ramp. To of the larger vessels had to drive around to Monterey to exit the water. Checkout the calendar for future dive trips to Point Lobos and other popular dive sites!
